If you are new to use Pedometers, you might find it difficult to estimate whether your device reading is accurate or not. Indeed, you can measure the level of accuracy with a simple test that will takea maximum of one hour. This test is called the twenty step test. Before purchasing the device, make sure that you can return it if you find it to be faulty. Then after purchasing, test it immediately for accuracy. Wear it on your belt, set the beginning count at zero and walk twenty steps. Now look at the counter monitor. If the number is not within 19 to 21, reposition the device. Reset the counter to go back to zero and take another twenty steps again. Repeat the test for several positioning of the device. If the machine continues to read wrong counts, return it as soon as possible to get a better one which will keep the counts accurately.
